Nature At and Surrounding River Bend Resort

River Bend Resort is located perfectly along the Rio Grande River at Lat 26° 57.4582'  in a semi-tropical setting.  This location and the proximity to the Gulf of Mexico creates a climate not found in many places on earth.

Plants
If you love birding and plants you will love River Bend Resort.  The resort itself has a citrus orchard for the use of guests and residents with Navel oranges, Ruby Red grapefruit, lemons and limes for the taking in season.  Many property owners enjoy planting exotic species of plants for decoration. A trip around the resort will find bananas, papayas, olives, bananas, avocados, Key limes, bougainvillea, ficus, and plants not seen elsewhere thriving on properties. 

Birding
The Rio Grande Valley is famous for some of the world's best bird watching.  River Bend Resort is located less than a mile from The World Birding Center's largest reserve and shares the same habitat.  Birders have miles of surrounding trails around resacas in which to seek that rare sighting.
